Shimano SLX 150HGA Baitcast Reel

The Shimano SLX's Hagane Body and brass gearing delivers reliable and pure cranking power. Three SUS bearings and one roller bearing ensures everything turns smoothly. The reel sports a compact design, but maintains the same line capacity as Shimano's standard 150 sized reels, fitting approximately 150m of 20lb braid. A longer 45mm Throw handle working in conjunction with a gear ratio of 7.2:1 means the slow and methodical lure worker, and anglers who appreciate speed are well covered by the new SLX. On top of this it's maximum drag setting of 5kg provides some amazing stopping power should it be needed.

Hagane Body - A reel body with high rigidity, which virtually eliminates body flexing due to it's stiffness and impact resistance.

VBS Braking - Uses centrifugal force rather than magnets to aid in controlling the cast. When turned on, the individual brake weights are forced outward at the beginning of the cast, where backlashes most often occur, causing friction that reduces spool speed. As speed lessens, the pressure with which the brake weights contact the raceway is lessened, allowing the spool to continue spinning.
