The Shimano Dendou Maru 4000 Plays does all the hard work for you, ensuring you have maximum time on the bottom. The Shimano Dendou Maru Plays 4000 Electric Reel is now manufactured with HAGANE BODY technology, providing increased tolerances and a stronger frame that reduces twist under load.

The Plays 4000 also utilises the Heat Free System that significantly reduces heat under load and ensures the reel continues to operate smoothly. The large Fine Dot LCD screen improves readibility in the majority of light conditions. Precision Shielded Anti-Reverse bearings and Super Free Spool technology to reduce friction and heat.

HAGANE Body - This means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into cranking power.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings - This include shields on both sides of the bearings, that reduce the possibility of anything reducing the ability of the bearings' rotation.

Super Free - The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With Super Free, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion hear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. Resulting in zero friction on the spool shaft, for increased freespool.
