Starfish Egg Sinkers have very similar applications to ball sinkers with the added advantage of having slightly better bottom holding abilities due to there shape.

They are ideal for use in estuary situations where the current can tend to be a bit stronger.

They are also favoured by some reef fisherman over ball sinkers as they feel they are less likely to snag.
